The Google Pixel 6 could be here sooner than we thought, but according to another leak, it isn't.

The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were rumoured to be released on September 13th, or so it was, but leaker Jon Prosser claims his sources say the next Google phones will be released in October.
A tipter originally posted on the Chinese social media site Weibo that the pair of Pixel phones would be released just one day before Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 13. According to this source, Google will hold its international Pixel 6 press conference on September 13.
However, in response, Prosser, who cites his own sources but does not specify where they come from, claims that the Pixel 6 series will be available for pre-order on October 19, with a retail launch on October 28. The leaker also mentioned that the full Pixel 6 lineup could be revealed on the same day pre-orders go live.

This would make sense because Google has previously launched Pixel phones in October, and we see no reason why it would change course. It would also be unwise for Google to reveal a phone so close to the possibility of the next iPhone reveal, as Apple's phone is a bit of a headline stealer.
Not only is the iPhone 13 expected to be the centre of attention next month, but rumours over the weekend suggested that Samsung plans to release the Galaxy S21 FE in September. That phone is expected to be a less expensive Galaxy S21, and it could give the Pixel 6 a run for its money (depending on how Google structures pricing).

The S21 FE should have a Snapdragon 888 processor, making it a very strong phone — we're still not sure how Google's new Tensor system-on-chip for the Pixel 6 will compare to Qualcomm best silicon. Right now, it's anyone's guess.
And, of course, the entire world will be focused on the iPhone 13, which we believe will see significant upgrades, particularly on the Pro models. The Pixel 6 simply won't have the weight of Apple's flagship phone, so attempting to steal Apple thunder seems silly and short-sighted.

What we expect for the Pixel 6

Google has already revealed some details about the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Both phones will include Google's new Tensor processor, which was allegedly developed in collaboration with Samsung. Tensor is said to be focusing on AI and machine learning, potentially making the Pixel 6 the most powerful phone ever in this category.
Tensor is not expected to outperform the Snapdragon 888 or A14 Bionic in terms of performance (certainly not the upcoming A15 Bionic). However, with Google controlling the hardware, the Pixel 6 could be a one-of-a-kind Android phone. For starters, it could mean longer support, with some rumours claiming that Google will provide updates for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro for the next five years.

Both phones should have 50MP main cameras as well as a 12MP ultrawide camera. The Pixel 6 Pro is expected to include a 48MP telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom. We believe that the combination of this hardware and Google's existing computational photography prowess will make the Pixel 6 one of the best camera phones available.
The smaller Pixel 6 is expected to have a 6.4-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a battery capacity of 4,614 mAh. The Pixel 6 Pro is expected to have a larger 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Google appears to be going all out with the Pixel 6, with a completely new design and true flagship specs. Of course, the company has hinted at true flagship pricing as well, which may disappoint some Pixel fans. Google is also rumoured to be planning a major marketing push for the Pixel 6. We'll just have to wait and see.
