We are now sure that, after quite some speculation, Apple will host an event at 2 p.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET / 6 PBST (AEST 3 p.m. at September 15) on 14 September and it will most likely be the debut of the iPhone 13.
The events that Apple sent to the press showing the launch event on September 14 with only the words 'California Streaming' were confirmed by Apple. This short clip, which does not mention devices but has the 'streaming" sensitivity, was tweeted by Apple SVP of Marketing:
We’re California Streaming on September 14th. See you real soon. 🏞 #AppleEvent pic.twitter.com/OjOvJFXlHd

That may rest, as delays related to Covid pushed the iPhone 12 launch from the usual Apple September slot up to the October of last year, and some fans on the iPhone were also concerned that in October the iPhone 13 would also come. Although the event was not explicit about devices, recent rumours from Mark Gurman, including Bloomberg, strongly suggest that next week they will be present.
We also would expect to see Apple Watch Series 7 and we could see a new iPad (2021) at the event. We would be very happy. The iPad Mini 6 and Apple Watch SE 2 are also feasible, but we are not sure about that.

Analysis: California Streaming on such an iPhone day?
Apple's events are usually themed around a catchphrase - WWDC 2021 in June was dubbed 'Connect,' the iPad and Mac launch event in April was dubbed 'Spring Ahead,' and so on – so 'California Streaming' is a huge clue at what's to come.
From a cautious standpoint, Apple's invitation to its September 14 presentation makes no mention of any new items. Instead, 'California streaming' could just be limited to the Apple TV Plus streaming service, Apple Fitness Plus workout streaming service, and other Apple One service package components.

But there was another hint in Apple's event invitation: an augmented reality (AR) component that allowed viewers to gaze through an Apple-shaped portal and into the assumed Northern California environment shown in the teaser. To see it for yourself, go to Apple's event page on your phone and press the image (you'll need an iPhone and Safari, unfortunately) — or see below:
Coolest Apple event invite yet. It’s basically some kind of mixed reality portal. pic.twitter.com/B3PSAcPBcX

Apple has featured augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) elements in past launch presentations, but this appears to be a clear indication that the event will place a greater emphasis on AR/MR features in its products, such as the iPhone 13 series.
This may also be the time when we see the long-rumored Apple Glasses, but as we haven't heard anything about them, we'll presume they're still in the works. Apple is more likely to invest in AR/MR on its existing mobile range, but we'll have to wait until September 14 to find out for sure.
