The iPhone 13 is expected to be unveiled on September 14 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. BST) during Apple's next event. Because of the pandemic, Apple is holding an online-only event, similar to the announcement of the iPhone 12 last year. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, despite the fact that the event will be entirely virtual, we can expect four versions of the new phone: the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Mini, the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Apple event timeline a few years ago and came up with a compelling Labor Day hypothesis, which you can read about here. The Labor Day rule would have placed the September Apple event (and the unveiling of the iPhone 13) this week based on the 2021 calendar. However, since Apple announced the date for its next event, our hypothesis has not been confirmed this year.
In April, Apple held its first event of 2021, revealing new iPads, colourful iMacs, a purple iPhone 12, and AirTags trackers. Then there was WWDC in June, where we got our first look at iOS 15. Apple said nothing about the iPhone 13 at either event. However, no one expected the iPhone 13 to be announced so soon.

IPhone 13 launch in September
We had a hunch that Apple's iPhone 13 event in September would be held virtually. This was previously rumoured in Bloomberg's Mark Gurman's July Power On newsletter. He initially predicted that Apple's next event would be entirely virtual, owing to the tech giant's decision to postpone its return to in-person work due to an increase COVID-19 cases. Apple had previously stated that beginning in September, all employees would be required to come into the office three days a week. According to Gurman, an in-person iPhone 13 event would have been "plausible" if Apple had stuck to the September time frame.
While the pandemic changed the company's normal course for 2020, with the first September Apple event in eight years without an iPhone due to production delays, Kuo predicted that 2021 would see a return to the company's usual cadence. According to a March 24 report based on supply chain information, the iPhone 13 will be released in late September. In addition, an April report from DigiTimes cited industry insiders as saying that production for the phones' new chips was ahead of schedule, putting the phone's release back on a familiar, pre-planned timeline.

IPhone 13 Rumors
Wedbush Securities analyst Daniel Ives revealed in a note to investors, as reported by MacRumors, that Apple was likely to launch the iPhone 13 in the "third week of September." This would be between Monday, September 13 and Friday, September 20, which was correct.
iPhone releases are usually scheduled for Fridays, about a week and a half after Apple announces new devices. If the iPhone 13 does launch on Tuesday, we can expect it to be released sometime in the third week of September, possibly on September 24. More information will be available when Apple unveils its new phone lineup.
