Infinix Note 11 series unveiled

The new generation of Infinix jumbo-sized Note series has been unveiled. The Infinix Note 10 Pro, like its predecessor, has a 6.95" display, making it more of a tablet than a phone. However, the refresh rate has been increased from 90Hz to 120Hz for this generation. The touch sampling rate is kept constant at 180 Hz.

It has the same 1,080 x 2,460 px resolution as before and is an IPS LCD panel. This year, however, it is powered by a new chipset, the MediaTek Helio G96. This chip, like its predecessor (G95), has a pair of Cortex-A76 CPU cores, and our testing shows that it outperforms it.

However, the GPU was downgraded from Mali-G76 MC4 to G57 MC2, as evidenced by testing results. However, the Helio G95 would have been a weird choice for this phone because it is incapable of driving a 1080p display at 120 Hz (and the G96 apparently can). The Note 11 series is expected to outperform other G96-powered phones due to the 9 layers of graphene film that help keep the chipset cool.

The Note 11 Pro has a larger base memory capacity, with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, up from 6/64GB. The microSD card slot is still present, and the RAM can be expanded thanks to the new XOS 10 software (based on Android 11), which can add 3GB of virtual RAM. Infinix has a Write Booster for UFS 2.2 storage that speeds up writing.

A 13MP telephoto module has been added to the 64MP rear camera. While it advertises a maximum zoom of 30x (digital, of course), the optical magnification is only 2x. Also gone is the previous model's 8MP ultra-wide camera - no ultra-wide here, just a 2MP depth sensor.

This is one of the key differences between vanilla and the Infinix Note 11 Pro. According to the press release, it has a 50MP main camera and a "2MP telephoto lens," though that could be a typo for all of us. In any case, both have a 16 MP front-facing selfie camera. However, the new chipset did not improve the video recording situation, as the new model is still limited to 1080p 30 fps.

Aside from the camera, the Pro model distinguishes itself with stereo speakers (top and bottom), which Infinix refers to as a digital theatre system. However, if you prefer a larger screen, Infinix phones are designed to easily cast images and videos (including screen mirroring) to TVs and laptops. If you want to keep it small, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack (with FM radio receiver).

The Pro model's 5,000mAh battery, like its predecessor's, supports 33W fast charging via USB-C. That battery should last up to 800 charge cycles without losing capacity, thanks to some TÜV Rheinland-approved charging technology. The retail box includes the power adapter, as well as a transparent silicone case and a glass screen protector.

The Infinix Note 11 and Note 11 Pro will be available in select markets very soon. There has been no word on pricing as of yet.
