Toho is now celebrating Godzilla's big birthday in Japan, and has made the major announcement that the franchise's next major movie project is now in the works! On November 3, 1954, Godzilla's first film was released in theatres across Japan, and fans have used the day ever since to commemorate how far the franchise has come in the decades since. In recent years, this has ranged from a massive slate of films in Japan alone to a worldwide franchise from Legendary MonsterVerse quadrilogy. But it appears that Toho has already set their sights on what comes next.
Toho has announced that the next Godzilla film is in the works by posting a mysterious teaser image on their official Twitter account. While there are still few details about the next Toho-produced Godzilla film, they have revealed that director Takahashi Yamazaki (Stand By Me Doraemon 3, Lupin III: The First) has been attached to the project, with a November 3 release date currently planned.

What Can We Expect From Godzilla New Movie?
There are still many unanswered questions about what to expect from Godzilla next major film. Shin Godzilla, the last feature film produced in Japan for the franchise, was released in 2016 before Legendary took over the franchise for their MonsterVerse quadrilogy. Following this, it appeared that Toho would take a chance on a new Godzilla film, and while Legendary is continuing with new MonsterVerse projects like a currently in the works AppleTV+ series, Toho is making their mark with Godzilla once more.
Shin Godzilla was an extremely popular take on the famous kaiju, but this already appears to be a different project. However, it is far too early to tell. With the next Godzilla film in the works for a November release, it won't be long before we see more details about the design, story, and other aspects of this next entry.
