Google is preparing to unveil the Pixel 7 series smartphones at the Made By Google event on October 6. Tensor G2 chipsets will be used in the devices.

The Pixel 7 Pro has appeared on Geekbench ahead of its launch, giving us an idea of the new chip performance. Onboard the chipset is an octa-core processor with a base frequency of 1.80GHz. Two of the cores have a maximum clock speed of 2.35GHz, and the other two can boost to 2.85GHz.

The company appears to be using the same combination of two Cortex-X1 cores, two Cortex-A76 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores, but with faster clock speeds. The Mali-G710 GPU onboard the chipset is expected to offer a 20% performance boost and a 20% increase in power efficiency.

According to Geekbench 5, the Google Pixel 7 Pro scores 1068 points on the single-core test and 2149 points on the multi-core test. Aside from that, the listing indicates that the device has 12GB of RAM and runs Android 12.
