FIFA 23 to introduce Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond

Ted Lasso, everyone favourite fictional football club manager, appears to be making his way to FIFA 23, as he is now dropping hints about his appearance in the game. This was hinted at in a Twitter post that showed actor Jason Sudekis being scanned, similar to how players likenesses are scanned for FIFA games.

EA Sports responded to the post, essentially confirming that they and the Apple TV show are working on something. This is extremely exciting news for FIFA and Ted Lasso fans, as it is likely the first time EA Sports has included crossover content in their game to this extent.

It will be interesting to see how EA Sports incorporates this new content, and whether Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond will be playable managers/teams in the game.

FIFA 23

FIFA 23 to feature Career Mode with Just Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond?

It's unclear how this new content will be integrated, or whether it'll be substantial enough to support an entire game mode. EA Sports has previously experimented with story content, such as "The Journey," which followed a player from his rise in youth clubs to stardom on the world stage of football.

A similar mode in FIFA 23 could allow players to take control of AFC Richmond as Ted Lasso and lead the team to European championship glory. The possibilities are limitless, and FIFA fans are living in exciting times.

As this will be the series final game with the FIFA licence, it appears that EA Sports is looking to end the "FIFA" journey with a bang. The game is scheduled to be released on September 27th, and it will be interesting to see if the Ted Lasso mode or just his likeness will be available at launch.
