Motorola unveiled the Moto Razr 2022 clamshell flagship, along with the Moto X30 Pro and Moto S30 Pro, in China yesterday. A few hours after the launch event, the Razr 2022 became available for purchase for the first time in the home market. The first sales figures for the Razr 2022 have been confirmed by the Lenovo-owned brand.
According to the poster below, Motorola sold 10,000 Razr 2022 units in just 5 minutes during its initial sale. The device has an impressive starting price of 5,999 Yuan (890) for the uninitiated. Its main competitor is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, which starts at 8,499 Yuan ($1,261).
The Razr 2022 is also expected to be released in the global market, but no official word has been provided. In China, it is available in three configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage for 5,999 Yuan ($890); 8GB RAM + 256GB storage for 6,499 Yuan ($965); and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage for 7,299 Yuan ($1,083). The device is only available in black. The Razr 2022 will go on sale again in China on August 16.

The Razr 2022 has a 6.7-inch foldable P-OLED display with FHD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a refresh rate of 144Hz. It has a 2.7-inch G-OLED display on the back. It has a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and a triple camera unit with 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 13-megapixel (ultra-wide).
The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It has a 3,500mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. The device is powered by Android 12 and MyUI 4.0. It has a fingerprint scanner on the side for added security.
