Today, July 4, Xiaomi will hold a global launch event to unveil the new Xiaomi 12S smartphone series. As the company recently partnered with Leica, we can higher level over the Xiaomi 12 Pro, at least in the camera department. The Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Ultra are the three models in the new smartphone series. Xiaomi also unveiled a Xiaomi 11 Ultra model last year, but it was quickly discontinued for unknown reasons.
Xiaomi 12S series launch: Where's can watch
Fans can watch the launch event live on Xiaomi Global social media channels today at 4:30 PM IST. We can also expect the event to feature additional products, such as the Xiaomi bike.
Xiaomi typically launches its premium devices in China or global markets first, followed by the Indian market. The company will most likely release these devices in the country later under the same or different names.
Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra
Xiaomi has revealed that the Xiaomi 12S Ultra will include a Sony IMX989 1-inch camera sensor. Leica, a company that has previously collaborated with Huawei, will tune the camera system.
According to rumours, the Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Ultra will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Phones will also have Harman Kardon-tuned speakers and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front panel.
As per leaks, the Pro model may be equipped with a Dimensity 9000 SoC. Overall, all phones, particularly the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, will be focused on cameras. The Ultra model is expected to include a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 48-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom.
Fast charging, a 120Hz display, and an IP rating for water and dust resistance are also expected.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is holding an event in China to showcase the Xiaomi Book Pro 2022 and Xiaomi Band 7.
