The US Federal Communications Commission has just approved Samsung upcoming foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 4. (FCC). The model number of the smartphone is SM-F936U, and it is said to have Qualcomm Smart Transmit feature for improved uplink.
While the FCC listing doesn't reveal much about the device, it does indicate that it will support a wide range of networks, from 2G to mmWave 5G. The Wi-Fi model will also be upgraded to include axe support. The FCC listing also reveals that the device, like the Galaxy Z Fold 3, will support the S Pen.
On August 4, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 4 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 4, but there has been no official confirmation. If certification, rumours, and leaks are any indication, the launch is almost certainly imminent. Aside from the FCC approval, the Z Fold 4 was recently discovered on GeekBench. Mock-up cases for both the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 have recently been made available for pre-order, confirming that the launch is imminent.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset will be paired with 12GB of RAM in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. The phone will also have up to 1TB of storage and a 4,400mAh battery under the hood.
There were earlier rumours that the Fold 4 would have a less prominent crease than the Fold 3 and a better camera setup. We anticipate that the company will reveal the launch details soon.
