Motorola has postponed the release of the Moto Razr 2022 indefinitely. The phone, along with the Edge 30 Ultra and others, was expected to arrive by the end of this month. However, reports from China, where the phone was expected to be released first, indicate that the Razr 2022 launch has been postponed. The reason for this is unknown at this time.

The Motorola Razr is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 gen 1 chipset, but the battery may not receive a significant upgrade. According to reports, the Moto Razr 3 may use the same battery as the Motorola Razr 2nd generation.
At an event earlier this year, a Motorola executive unveiled the design of the upcoming Moto Razr 2022. According to reports, Motorola will release the phone, along with two other flagship phones, in July. However, a well-known Chinese tipster known as the Digital Chat Station has claimed that the launch may not take place because it has been postponed until further notice. He did not specify the reason for the delay, but his Weibo post suggested that the phone would be released around the same time as the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and OPPO rumoured flip phone with a foldable screen.
While the release date for Oppo clamshell phone has not been announced, Samsung has announced that the Galaxy foldable phones will be available on August 10 and August 26. As a result, the Motorola foldable phone may also be released around the same time.
Motorola has released two foldable phones in the last year. Moto Razr with clamshell design was released in 2020. Then, in 2021, Motorola released the Moto Razr, which improved on the previously released foldable phone. The third Razr is also expected to include new features, and Motorola is expected to address some of the issues that troubled the previous two foldable phones.
Moto Razr 2022: Expected specifications
The Moto Razr 2022 will reportedly have a 6.7-inch P-OLED FHD+ 120Hz foldable display. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+Gen 1 chipset, which is currently Qualcomm's flagship chipset, powers the smartphone. It will be equipped with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone will also have a 3-inch cover display. A 2800 battery is expected under the hood. The device will be powered by Android 12 with MyUI on top.
In terms of cameras, the Moto Razr 2022 is expected to have a 50-megapixel primary camera on the back and a 32-megapixel camera on the front.
