iPhone 14 Series AOD Leaked: More Upgraded Than Android

iPhone 14 Series AOD Leaked: More Upgraded Than Android

The iPhone 14 series will be announced officially by Apple in September of this year. This means that the devices will be available in less than two months. However, several reports about the upcoming iPhone 14 series have surfaced in recent months. The majority of leaks concerning the iPhone 14 series come from the supply chain as well as the iOS 16 operating system. For example, Apple recently added dynamic light and dark wallpapers with AOD to the latest Beta 4 version of iOS 16. (Always on Display). Despite reports that the iPhone 14 series will use the AOD feature, this is the true indicator of the iPhone 14 series AOD.

According to reports, Apple has updated the wallpaper with a new "sleep" mode. To save power, this feature allows you to reduce the brightness and contrast of the wallpaper. 9to5Mac also released a demo video showing the iPhone 13 series features. The video demonstrates how the feature can darken and fade the wallpaper, but not completely remove it. This is not the same as the date/time only displayed on Android.

Only Pro Series will have AOD feature

Given the impact in performance, this time the screen display appears to be similar to the Apple Watch always-on display in recent years. With an ultra-low refresh rate of 1Hz, by adjusting brightness and contrast, it can achieve a consistent brightness that doesn't affect battery life at all.

Although we can add this feature to the iPhone 14 series AOD feature, the entire series will not benefit from it. According to reports, the new AOD screen display will most likely be exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro series. This is due to the Pro series use of an LTPO screen capable of 1Hz display.

The standard versions of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max (or iPhone 14 Plus) use a display that only supports 60Hz. This means that the AOD for the iPhone 14 series will not work with these models. Even if the iPhone 14 gets this feature, it will consume more power and risk screen burn-in. This absolutely not worth it.
