Since the official launch of the Pixel 6 in 2021, Google At a Glance widget has improved by leaps and bounds. The unassuming little widget has been transformed into an indispensable productivity tool that displays flight status, Nest Doorbell alerts, and fitness-related information, among other things, thanks to Monthly Feature Drops. Google announced that its June Feature Drop would enhance the At a Glance widget with Air Quality Index (AQI) data.
The most recent addition to the At a Glance widget is now available and is intended to serve as an alert. It appears as a small coloured dot next to an AQI value scale from zero to 500. The colour of the dot changes depending on the severity of the alert. 9to5 According to Google, the dot remains orange if the air quality is "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" or worse, and turns yellow when the AQI improves to "Moderate." If you want to learn more about the air quality, tap on the AQI in the widget and search Google for "air quality near me."

Because the feature is intended to serve as a warning, you may not be able to see the AQI if it is in the green. There's also no way to disable the AQI indicator if you don't need it, as it could be part of the "Weather" option in At a Glance. In the United States, reliable providers such as AirNow and PurpleAir gather AQI data.

AQI alerts are now available in the United States, Australia, and India as part of the June Feature Drop on Pixel 4 and newer devices, according to Google. AQI is also available on Google Maps and other Google smart devices, such as the Nest Hub.
