BGMI Removed From Google Play Store, Here's All About It

Krafton PUBG Mobile alternative in India, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), which was launched only a few months ago, was suddenly blocked in India on Thursday evening. The battle royale game is no longer available on Google Play or the App Store. Interestingly, another Krafton game, PUBG New State, is still available in the country.

BGMI Removed From Google Play Store

Apple has not disclosed an official statement on the matter, but Google said it was done following a "government order". "Upon receipt of the order, following established procedure, we have notified the affected developer and blocked access to the app available on the Play Store in India,"  as per India Today Tech report

The BGMI developer is currently working with government officials to bring the game back to the Play Store. Crafton said it was unaware of the reason behind the removal of the game from the App Store. "We are clarifying how BGMI was removed from the Google Play store and App Store and will let you know once we have specifics," Crafton told India Today Tech.

The question now is whether or not BGMI will be reinstated in the Google Play store. The solutions are tricky.

BGMI is not currently banned indefinitely. Though we do not know the exact reason for the app's removal from the Play store, it is safe to assume that this occurred because BGMI violated some law or regulation. Furthermore, this isn't the first time Google has blocked an app. In such cases, app developers collaborate closely with the government to address the concerns. Krafton may be doing the same. According to Reuters, the Indian government has yet to respond to Krafton inquiry.

Currently, BGMI - the PUBG Mobile alternative - is no longer available for download on both the Google and Apple app stores. However, users who already have the game downloaded can play the game, but it says they have received an update and will need to log in again.

We'll wait to see if BGMI returns to the App Store or disappears like PUBG Mobile.
