There are times when you forget the password to your home Wi-Fi network and are unable to recall it. As a result, you must know the password in order to either give it to your guests or re-enter it after disconnecting the Wi-Fi network. Some people write down or memorise their password, but many of us do not.
Fortunately, there is a method to check the Wi-Fi network password. The procedure is not difficult, and locating the password in Windows is straightforward. To learn more, follow the steps outlined below. Remember that these steps are very similar for older Windows versions as well. People who use a different version of Windows will have little difficulty locating their network Wi-Fi password.
How you can find your network Wi-Fi password in Windows 11
Step 1: Select the Start button, type control panel, and then select Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center in Windows 11.
Step 2: Users must select their Wi-Fi network name in Network and Sharing Center, which can be found next to Connections.
Step 3: Select Wireless Properties from the Wi-Fi Status menu.
Step 4: Select the Security tab in Wireless Network Properties, then check the Show characters box.
Step 5: The Network security key box displays your Wi-Fi network password. Simply select the Show Characters option, and the password will be displayed.
Note: From step 2, the process for other Windows versions is similar. Those using Windows 10 should simply click the Start button, then Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network and Sharing Center. People using Windows 8.1 or 7 must first search for Network and then choose Network and Sharing Center from the list of results.
