In addition, the firm also announced the affordable Garmin Forerunner 255.
The Garmin Forerunner 955 Solar employs a Power Glass solar charging lens, which should allow it to provide up to 20 days of battery life when fully charged. Of course, if you want to be a little more daring, the watch can last up to 49 hours in GPS mode. A full-color, always-on touchscreen display is also included with the Forerunner 955 Solar. Those looking for something more tactile will appreciate the fact that the watch has five physical buttons. The watch, as expected, has excellent fitness tracking features and guidance tips that have become synonymous with the Garmin brand.
The Garmin Forerunner 955 Solar also has internal storage that can hold up to 2,000 songs from supported services like Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. It also supports contactless payments at supported terminals via Garmin Pay. The watch connects to iOS and Android devices, allowing users to receive notifications. The Forerunner 955 Solar can now be purchased for $599.99. If this is too much for your budget, you can choose the non-solar variant, which costs $100 less.
Garmin also launched the Forerunner 255 series today if you're looking for a more affordable option. The watches have a battery life of up to 14 days on a single charge and a maximum of 30 hours in GPS mode. The Forerunner 255 series improves on its predecessors by providing a wide range of activity tracking features, including triathlon, heart rate tracking, and more. The Forerunner 255S and Forerunner 255S Music come in 41mm sizes, while the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 255 Music come in 46mm sizes.
Garmin Pay is also available for the Forerunner 255 series. Furthermore, the Garmin Forerunner 255S Music and Garmin Forerunner 255 Music can store up to 500 songs from supported services such as Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. The Forerunner 255 series, like other Garmin watches, is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. The Forerunner 255S and 255 are $349.99, while the Forerunner 255S Music and Forerunner 255 Music are $399.99.
