Apple will launch iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 at WWDC 2022

Apple may not introduce a new M2 MacBook Pro at WWDC 2022. According to a new report, the new MacBook Pro M2 with a 13-inch display could be delayed past WWDC 2022. According to Bloomberg Mark Gurman, only the M2 MacBook Air will be released at Apple June 6 event.

Gurman revealed in his Power On newsletter that a "faster 13-inch MacBook Pro was also planned," but the Chinese lockdowns could have caused a delay in the launch. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 chip will be similar to the 2020 model except for the absence of the Touch Bar.

Gurman also discussed the MacBook Air M2 specifications and features. According to him, the Air M2 will have a 13-inch display. It could be released in Space Grey, Silver, Gold, and even dark blue.

The design could be similar to the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. On the 13-inch MacBook Air, Apple will include two USB Type-C ports. The 13-inch Air will not have a microSD card slot or any other ports. For additional I/O ports, users will have to rely on adapters and dongles.

The 13-inch MacBook Air M2 is also said to support MagSafe charging. There will also be a Touch ID sensor. In terms of the M2 chip, Gurman claims that the chipset will have eight CPU cores and ten GPU cores.

Along with the M2 MacBook Air, Apple will release new software versions for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other devices. The company will release iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9, and other operating systems. There is also a chance that a new Mac Pro with an M1 Ultra chip will be teased at the event. The top-tier Mac device could be announced today, but it is expected to hit stores by the end of the year.
