Apple Watch will launch a new activity challenge to commemorate the upcoming International Day of Yoga.
This announcement comes after Apple Watch launched its own Earth Day and International Dance Day challenges.
Apple Watch Challenge
According to MacRumors, Apple Watch users can participate in the new International Day of Yoga challenge by doing 20 minutes of yoga on June 21.
Users who complete the challenge will receive a set of animated yoga stickers as well as a new yoga badge.
There are several yoga workouts available in the Apple Watch Workout app, or you can use an app that adds yoga workouts to the Health app.
To prepare for the challenge, you can get the Apple Fitness+ service for only $9.99 per month, which includes built-in yoga workouts.
Promoting Fitness
According to 9to5Mac, Apple launched its Apple Watch Activity Challenges in 2019 to promote the use of its watch and assist users with their fitness journey. It also acts as a guide for Apple users to use the workout tracking features of their devices and apps.
You will unlock the achievement on your Apple Watch, iPhone, and Messages app once you have completed the challenge using the workout app that logs the data to the Fitness app.
You will also be able to add stickers to your collection and use them in the FaceTime and Messages apps.
Apple Watch users will receive a notification about the new International Day of Yoga challenge.
Apple Watch Fitness Upgrade
Apple announced the new challenge shortly after announcing a slew of new fitness features for the Apple Watch.
WatchOS 9 will be available in mid-2022, and will include a custom workout builder, new running metrics, triathlete support, and sleep phase detection.
According to Connect the Watts, the new updates will be available for all Apple Watch models, from Series 4 to the most recent releases.
The Fitness app will also be available to all iPhone users running iOS 16, and they will be able to use it even if they do not have an Apple Watch.
New metrics are available for runners who use the Apple Watch to track their time. The technology behemoth will include an accelerometer, gyroscope, and machine learning.
A new set of data will also be available, such as vertical oscillation, stride length, and ground contact time. For real-time tracking, users will be able to see the metrics while they are running.
Apple Watch will also introduce Heart Rate Zones, which will consist of five zones. These zones can be created manually or automatically based on personalised health data.
Users will also be able to customise their workouts, which will include work and rest intervals for a more accurate and enjoyable workout.
Apple Watch users can organise and name them, allowing them to choose which workout routines they believe are best for them.
Triathletes will be able to use the Multi-Sport feature, which will detect running, swimming, and biking.
