Apple Music Student plan prices have risen unexpectedly in major markets such as the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), and Canada.
The latest price increase for the Apple Music plan for students comes shortly after the subscription fee was raised in other countries such as Singapore, South Africa, Australia, India, Indonesia, Israel, New Zealand, Kenya, and the Philippines.

Apple appears to have expanded the price increase to additional countries without making any announcements.
Apple Music Student Plan
Apple Music Student plan allows younger users to enjoy the full-fledged music streaming service at a much lower subscription price.
As per the Mac Rumors, the iPhone maker offers students a discount on Apple Music instead of paying the standard plan, which costs $9.99 per month.
It allows students to listen to Apple Music music library without emptying their wallets.
Apple Music Student Plan Price Hike: US, UK, Canada
However, students in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada will have to pay a higher monthly fee this time. It is still less than the standard price of $9.99, but it is now slightly more expensive than the previous Student plan cost.
According to a recent 9to5 Mac report, Apple music service quietly updated its monthly prices for its Student plan, as seen on its official website.
App developer Michael Burkhardt discovered Apple Music Student price increase in the United States.
According to 9to5 Mac, the new Apple Music pricing for students has increased by a dollar. The service now costs $5.99 per month, up from $4.99 previously.
Aside from the price increase in the United States, Apple Music has also updated its student plan in the United Kingdom. It now costs 5.99£ per month, up from the previous fee of 4.99£.
How about other Apple Music plans?
According to Apple Insider, other Apple Music plans besides the Student plan have the same pricing.
The Family option remains at $14.99, while the Apple Music Voice Plan remains at $4.99. Meanwhile, the Standard plans continue to cost $9.99 per month.
However, the price increase applies only to the Apple Music Student plan. The Cupertino-based tech behemoth has yet to explain the reason for this.
