Stranger Things was not meant to last forever. Heck, the original concept of Stranger Things was barely there to last its first season. But before that Netflix and the series creators The Duffer Brothers took a look at the amazing cast of the show and the enthusiastic response from the audience. Nevertheless, now the end is fast approaching.
"Stranger Things Season 4 Part 1" has now premiered on Netflix for seven of its episodes. After that, only two episodes that constitute Season 4 Part 2 and a fifth season are scheduled to follow. Ahead of the Season 4 Premiere, Matt and Ross Duffer Explain Their Reasoning to Fans in an open letter.
"We planned out the entire Stranger Things story arc seven years ago," the identical twins wrote. "We predicted at the time that the story would last four or five seasons." It proved too large to tell in four parts, but as you'll soon see, we're on our way to the end. Season 4 will be the penultimate season, with Season 5 being the final."
Fans have now gotten a glimpse of what that penultimate season will be like, with new monsters, both human and Upside Down, and plenty of the same Hawkins residents we've come to know and love.
