Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor has been launched

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor was released. It is a new Snapdragon 7 series processor that will power mid-range devices. The chipset is also the company first mid-range SoC for this year.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor includes a number of first-generation features. Qualcomm has confirmed that smartphones powered by the newly announced processor will be available in H2 2022 from Xiaomi, OPPO, and Honor. On May 23rd, OPPO Reno8 Pro is expected to be the first phone to use the said SoC.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor is manufactured using a 4nm process. It has four 2.4GHz Cortex-A710 cores and four Cortex-A510 cores. It has an Adreno 662 GPU, which provides 20% faster performance than its predecessor. The new Snapdragon processor also includes an X62 5G modem with 4.4Gbps download speeds and dual 5G connectivity. It supports WiFi-6E and Bluetooth 5.3, as well as Snapdragon Sound and aptX. The chipset can support up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 supports displays that run at 60Hz QHD+ or 144Hz FHD+. It supports a single 200MP sensor, 64MP + 20MP sensors, and three 25MP sensors for photography. It has three 14-bit ISPs that can capture 720p video at 480 frames per second and 4K HDR video at 30 frames per second. In addition, the processor supports HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG formats.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 includes Android SE as well as a Trusted Management Engine, which promises maximum security for digital keys and wallets. The processor works with modern navigation satellites like GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, NavIC, and dual-frequency GNSS.
