Firefox 100 Release

According to The Register, the Mozilla Foundation, the non-profit organisation behind the long-time rival of the top web browser Chrome, has reached a milestone update by releasing version 100.

According to the news outlet, Mozilla has yet to discuss the latest update to its flagship web browsers, but it is officially available for download.

Mozilla appears to have abandoned plans to formally release Firefox 100. Despite this, it is already available on the non-profit organization FTP site.

In fact, different versions of the Firefox 100 are available for various platforms, including Linux, Apple macOS, and Microsoft Windows. There are two options for the latter: 64-bit or 32-bit.

The Register also noted that the three-digit version of the Mozilla web browser is still available for those still using Windows 7. However, before they can install it, they must first install a specific Microsoft KB4474419 update.

Firefox 100: What's New?

Firefox is celebrating its 100th update with new features for both its desktop and mobile apps, according to a recent report by the Express United Kingdom.

It turns out that the latest version of the Chrome rival not only has an extra digit on its version number, but it also has new features to boast about.

It has been nearly two decades since Mozilla launched its flagship web browser in 2004. Nonetheless, the Foundation continues to add new and exciting features, much to the delight of its old and new users.

It comes despite the fact that Firefox has been struggling to keep up with Chrome's popularity in recent years. Not to mention that built-in browsers like Safari and Edge continue to attract millions of users.

Without further ado, here are the new features that Firefox 100 has in store for its users, which should help it compete with competitors such as Chrome.

Mozilla has released a new feature that should come in handy for avid users of YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video. Subtitle support for picture-in-picture playback has been added to Firefox 100.

Smartphone users who have installed Firefox 100 should notice improved tab handling as well as a new HTTPS-only mode. New wallpapers for the mobile web browser are also available.
