Xiaomi 12 Pro will be launched on April 27

The Xiaomi 12 Pro, a competition to the OnePlus 10 Pro, will be released in India on April 27. Xiaomi has been teasing the flagship phone for some time now, and the launch date was confirmed via social media posts on Tuesday afternoon.

The phone has already been released in China, and it is expected to be the company most premium phone in India by 2022. Despite the lack of the 'Ultra' debut, the phone will replace last year Mi 11 Ultra in Xiaomi's flagship lineup. "The flagship phone is coming home - Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G will be available on April 27th!" Xiaomi India tweet.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip will be found in the Xiaomi 12 Pro. This puts it up against the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, the OnePlus 10 Pro, and the recently launched Realme GT 2 Pro. At the very least, Xiaomi is expected to price the phone lower than Samsung and OnePlus devices. It will have up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone is expected to have a 6.73-inch QHD+ (1,440 x 3,200 pixel) AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,500 nits. A dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz should be supported by the panel. Xiaomi will once again place a large bet on the camera system in order to heat up the competition in this segment.

The triple rear camera system on the Xiaomi 12 Pro is expected to include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 sensor with optical image stabilisation, as well as a 50-megapixel portrait camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and the front camera come with 32-megapixel sensor.

Xiaomi new flagship phone is expected to have a 4,600 mAh battery, 120W fast wired charging, and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi has already put 120W fast charging support to use on the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge and Xiaomi 11T Pro. The phone will have 5G, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 support.

Xiaomi has only confirmed the debut of the 12 Pro so far, but it will be intriguing to watch whether it announces more than one phone on the same day.
