The OnePlus Ace, OnePlus new premium smartphone, will be released in China later today. In India, the premium Android smartphone will be known as the OnePlus 10R. In China, the OnePlus Ace will be sold as a rebadged Realme GT Neo 3. The device's USP is its fast charging capabilities, as well as a high-end performance unit.
OnePlus has already revealed some of the device key specifications ahead of its official launch. The phone will be available in at least two colours: Arctic Glow and Sierra Black. The phone will have a flat frame design, similar to many phones released after the iPhone 13 series. The back panel will have a dual texture design, with vertical stripes below the camera module. The smooth texture extends to the other half of the rear panel.
While the design approach is novel, the technology under the hood is also novel. Out of the box, the OnePlus Ace supports 150W SuperVOOC fast charging. The battery in the 150W charging variant will be 4500 mAh. This variant will charge from 0 to 100 in approximately 15 minutes.
According to OnePlus, the 150W fast charging technology can charge the phone from 0% to 50% in five minutes. The device will also include support for 80W fast charging for the 5000 mAh battery variant. This variant has the potential to charge completely in 30-35 minutes.
A MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC will power the Ace. We can expect the phone to have at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in the base model. The higher storage configuration will include 12GB of RAM as well as 256GB of internal storage.
The phone will have a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz on the front. It will have a hole punch cutout in the centre, rather than the top left corner, as seen on previous OnePlus devices. The screen is flat with small bezels around it.
When it comes to cameras, it has a rectangular camera module with a 50MP main camera sensor. The Sony IMX766 camera will include optical image stabilisation (OIS). It will be equipped with an 8MP ultrawide camera as well as a 2MP macro sensor.
The phone could have a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies. Finally, the phone will ship with Android 12 and a layer of ColorOS 12 on top. The Oxygen OS 12 will be pre-installed on the India variant. Streaming video
