Cedric McMillan : About
Cedric McMillan was born on August 16, 1977, and grew up with the desire to build "big muscles." Besides his professional bodybuilding career, the South Carolina native served in the United States Army.
Cedric McMillan first bodybuilding competition, according to Muscle Memory, was the 2007 NPC South Carolina State contest, where he finished first overall. He earned IFBB Pro League membership by winning the overall title at the 2009 NPC Nationals.
His first victory came at the Orlando Show of Champions in 2011. He followed that up with a win at the New York Pro in 2012. Despite qualifying for the Olympics both years, he chose not to compete.
Many consider 2013 to be his breakthrough year. He won the FIBO Germany contest and made his Olympia debut after finishing sixth at the Arnold Classic. On bodybuilding biggest stage, he finished 12th that year.
Cedric McMillan next victory came in the Golden State Pro in 2015. He did, however, skip the Olympia that year as well. In 2016, he won the Levrone Classic Poland and finished seventh at the Olympia.
McMillan most notable victory came in the 2017 Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio. McMillan, who reportedly weighed 280 pounds, won in dominating fashion. He is best known for his entertaining victory speech and for posing with Arnold Schwarzenegger himself.
Despite not winning a show to qualify for the 2019 Olympia, he was given a special invitation to compete in the competition. He would finish seventh. McMillan's final victory came at the 2019 Grand Prix Hungary, where he earned a spot in the 2020 Olympics.
He did, however, opt out of that competition as well as the 2021 Arnold Classic. He made a guest posing appearance in Alexandria, VA, in November 2021, and announced that he would compete in the 2022 Arnold Classic. However, due to health issues, he was unable to compete. (Brandon Curry eventually won the competition.)
McMillan followed up his announcement with a health update on Instagram on Feb. 28, 2022, revealing that he had been suffering from stomach issues. It's unclear whether those issues are related to his reported death.
