WhatsApp has released a fascinating update for iOS users. Users of the iPhone and iPad will now be able to play voice notes on WhatsApp even when they are not in a chat. This means that if you're listening to a voice note, it won't stop if you switch to another chat. Previously, switching to a different chat while listening to a voice note would cause the voice note to abruptly stop playing. WhatsApp was spotted testing the same feature on the app desktop versions.
The much-touted global voice player is now available on iOS. Users of the iPhone and iPad will be able to listen to voice notes and audio files even when they are not in a chat. Users will need to update their phone to the latest WhatsApp for iOS v22.4.75 version to get the new feature. This feature would allow users to respond to different chats while listening to the voice note. This feature is not yet available for Android or web users. WhatsApp has not stated when it intends to release the device. However, iOS users now have access to the feature. It will be available soon for Android users as well.
When you listen to a voice note while not in a chat, it appears at the top of the chat window. You can also pause the voice note while responding to another text. Once you've finished listening to the voice note, you can remove it from the chat window by clicking the cross in the upper right corner.
For quite some time, WhatsApp has been testing the feature. Indeed, WhatsApp was testing the feature on the web version of the app as well. The audio player will appear at the bottom of the web version. WhatsApp had previously enabled the ability to pause and resume voice notes. This allows users to pause the recording of a voice note and then resume it. Previously, users had to record the voice message all at once.
In a related development, WhatsApp was spotted working on a cover photo similar to Facebook. Users would be able to set covers for their WhatsApp profiles with this feature. The feature is intended for commercial accounts. The feature is expected to improve WhatsApp catalogue. According to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp users will soon be able to set cover photos for their profiles. This feature, however, will be limited to WhatsApp Business accounts. Standard user accounts will not be able to do so. According to the report, the feature is now available for beta testers, and some changes will be made to your business profile settings.
