Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G were launched on Wednesday in India (February 16). When exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light, the back panels of both Realme phones change colour from light blue to red. However, the color-shifting technology is only available in Sunrise Blue. The phones also have triple rear cameras and Dynamic RAM Expansion, which allows the RAM to be virtually extended to up to 5GB by using the built-in storage.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G series also includes a Street Photography Mode 2.0, which includes filters such as Neon Trail, Light Trail Portrait, Rush Hour, and Light Painting. In terms of significant differences, the Realme 9 Pro 5G has a 120Hz display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC.

The Realme 9 Pro+ 5G, on the other hand, features a MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC and a 90Hz Super AMOLED display. The Infinix Zero 5G, Vivo T1 5G, and Moto G71 5G will compete against the Realme 9 Pro 5G, while the Mi 11i, Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G, and Moto Edge 20 will battle against the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G.

The base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage edition of the Realme 9 Pro 5G costs Rs. 17,999 (initial pricing) in India. The phone is also available in an 8GB + 128GB option, which costs Rs. 20,999. The Realme 9 Pro+ 5G, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB + 128GB option. The phone also comes in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations, all of which cost Rs. 26,999 and Rs. 28,999, respectively.

The Aurora Green, Midnight Black, and Sunrise Blue colours will be available for the Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G smartphones. While the Realme 9 Pro 5G will be available for purchase beginning at 12pm (noon) on February 23, the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G will be available beginning at 12pm (noon) on February 21.

Both new Realme phones will be available on Flipkart, Realme.com, and through retail.

The launch offers for the Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+ include a Rs. 2,000 flat instant discount for customers using HDFC Bank cards and EMI transactions.

The Realme 8 Pro was launched in India last year, with a starting price of Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G runs Android 12 out of the box with Realme UI 3.0 on top and has a 6.6-inch full-HD+ LCD panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz (six-level adaptive). The phone is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, an Adreno 619 GPU, and up to 8GB of RAM. The Realme 9 Pro 5G has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with a f1.79 lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G has a 16-megapixel selfie camera sensor in the front for selfies and video chats.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G comes standard with 128GB of onboard storage. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are among the connectivity options. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor on the side.

The phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W Dart Charge fast charging. The Realme 9 Pro 5G measures 8.5mm thick and weighs 195 grammes.

The Realme 9 Pro+ 5G also includes Realme UI 3.0, which is based on Android 12. The phone has a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixel) Super AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display is also protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. The Realme 9 Pro+ is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC, a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, and up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

The Realme 9 Pro+ 5G has a triple rear camera setup for photos and videos, with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor and an f/1.8 lens that supports optical image stabilisation (OIS). A Sony IMX355 sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro shooter are also included in the camera setup.

The primary camera sensor on the Realme 9 Pro+ is paired with a proprietary ProLight Imaging Technology, which is said to aid in light intake. The sensor also increases the pixel size from one to two microns, which is said to increase light intake by 50%. In addition, the phone includes AI Noise Reduction Engine 3.0, which is said to reduce noise in photos by 30%.
