OnePlus recently announced an OEF event on foreign forums, announcing OxygenOS 13, its next-generation operating system. The news is surprising given that OnePlus announced the merger of OxygenOS and Oppo ColorOS in June 2021.
As a result, OnePlus dropped HydrogenOS in favour of ColorOS in China. Later, the global regions received the Android 12 update, effectively turning OxygenOS into a rebranded ColorOS.
Then, according to a recent report, both companies will abandon their operating system names in favour of a unified OS with a single name, which is rumoured to be H2OOS.

OnePlus, on the other hand, has now confirmed that they are working on OxygenOS 13, which will be based on Android 13.
The most recent announcement is that OxygenOS 13 will be discussed on the Open Ears Forum with their userbase in order to create the perfect OxygenOS for OnePlus smartphones. The event is set to take place on February 28 at 7:30 a.m. EST (6:00 PM in India).
OnePlus may be interested in hearing what people have to say about the direction of its software in order to get a better idea of how to approach the update that follows OxygenOS 12, whether it's a continuation of its current platform or the new unified OS.
The OnePlus Nord 2 was the first device to ship with OxygenOS, a ColorOS-based operating system. The OxygenOS 11.3 release was clearly more of a skin on top of ColorOS than the OxygenOS that was present on previously released devices such as the OnePlus 9 series.
Because the codebase integration for OxygenOS has already took place, several OnePlus devices around the world are technically running ColorOS, regardless of the branding used by OnePlus.
OxygenOS 12 was released in December of last year and is based on Android 12. It includes several new features such as improved icons, a three-level adjustable dark mode, and more.
