OnePlus Nord 2 security patch update (Jan 2022)

OnePlus Nord 2 security patch update (Jan 2022)

Following the release of OxygenOS builds with Android security patches for January 2022 to the flagship OnePlus 9 series and a couple of OnePlus Nord devices last month, OnePlus has now begun to release patches for February 2022 to its devices. The OnePlus Nord 2 is the first device in the company's rising smartphone lineup to receive the most recent security updates.

According to a recent post on the OnePlus community forums, OxygenOS A.17 updates for the OnePlus Nord 2 have already begun to arrive in India. The update brings the Android security patches for February 2022 to the mid-range device, but no other features or changes are included. The following is the full OxygenOS A.17 changelog for the OnePlus Nord 2:

  • Updated Android Security Patch to 2022.2

The latest firmware release for the OnePlus Nord 2 will be released in stages, as with all OxygenOS updates. This means that it will initially be available to a small number of Nord 2 users, with a wider rollout to follow in the coming days.

If you haven't already received the update, you can download the firmware package from the links below and manually install it. However, we do not recommend doing so if you use your Nord 2 on a daily basis and do not want to deal with any bugs that may exist in the initial release. If you intend to install the update manually, regardless of the risks, make sure to check your device current firmware build and download the corresponding incremental update package.
