There is some good news for Poco fans. The successor to the Poco F3 GT will be available in the first half of 2022, according to Anuj Sharma, Country Director, Poco India, in an exclusive interview with India Today Tech. It will most likely be known as the Poco F4 GT and will feature improved specifications that, according to Sharma, will entice users for less than Rs 50,000.
"We are going to refresh the entire portfolio," Sharma stated. "This is an excellent time for Poco to launch a completely new, revised fourth generation portfolio." We inquired whether a flagship phone would be included in this redesign. "I hope everyone likes that phone," Sharma responded, "but by the definition of that price-band (above Rs 50,000), I don't think we'll go there."

This means that the Poco F4 GT, or whatever the successor to the Poco F3 GT is called, will not compete in India with devices like the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, OnePlus 10 series, iQOO 9 series, and Realme GT 2 series. The Poco F3 GT, which debuted in India last year after much anticipation, started at Rs 26,999 - a price range that currently includes the Oppo Reno 7, Realme GT Master Edition, and others.
Sharma told India Today Tech that the company priority this year will be to expand its existing phone series. That means more Poco C-series, M-series, X-series, and, finally, F-series phones. The F-series phones are Poco most premium lineup, offering high performance with a focus on gaming, but with some trade-offs to justify the price. And the company's current Poco phone lineup will remain unchanged for at least two more generations. That means a true flagship is still a long way off.

However, Poco will expand its price band for the phone. “In 2020, our price range was close to Rs 8,000, which ranged from Rs 21,000 to Rs 22,000. That we expanded last year and went up to around Rs 31,000 last year with [the] F3 GT." This year, the top-end Poco F-series phone will certainly cost more, but it will still be Rs 50,000 per Rs. would be less than Rs.
While other brands have taken a holistic approach to the smartphone market, where there is a phone for all, Poco is going ahead with a targeted approach. Last year, it was a phone for high-end gaming. However, this year the focus will be on 5G. This means that the upcoming Poco phones in the current lineup will get more 5G phones, even though Sharma believes that the rollout of 5G services in India is unlikely until at least the end of 2022.
