The Vivo Y-smartphone series has been given a facelift in India with the new Vivo Y21T. The new phone replaces the regular Vivo Y21, which was launched in August 2021 and now uses Qualcomm processor instead of MediaTek. The design language of both the smartphones is similar, but there is a big difference in terms of specifications. The new Vivo Y21T, like all Vivo devices, has been made in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh as part of the company's "Make in India" strategy.
Vivo Y21T sports a large 6.58-inch LCD display with 2408×1080 pixels (FULL-HD+ resolution) and 90Hz refresh rate. The screen also gets "Eye Protection Mode" to filter out harmful blue light for a more comfortable viewing experience. Under the hood, we find a Snapdragon 680 chipset with an expanded RAM 2.0 feature that uses up to 1GB of idle ROM space. The chipset comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Customers can choose from Midnight Blue and Pearl White color options.
In this phone, we get a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera with two 2-megapixel snappers for macro photography and bokeh effect. The camera app comes with modes like Personalized Portrait Mode, Super HDR and Super Night Mode. Up front, we find an 8-megapixel snapper inside a waterdrop style notch for selfies and video calling. The phone weighs 182 grams (two grams heavier than the Vivo Y21), but its design is 8 mm longer. The back material is made of plastic.
Talking about the battery, here we get a 5,000mAh battery which sports 18W fast charging. Vivo Y21T runs on Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 11. Additionally, we get an updated Ultra Game Mode for a better gaming experience. Connectivity options on the phone include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, USB Type-C port with OTG support, and dual-SIM card tray. Lastly, the Vivo Y21T is priced at Rs 16,490 and is available for purchase through Vivo e-store and all partner retail stores.
