Vivo is planning to launch a new 'T' series in the Indian market. This T1 series smartphone has already been unveiled in China. The first two devices in the series are Vivo T1 and Vivo T1X. It is expected that the T1 series will be launched in India soon. According to a report by India Today Tech, the Vivo T1 will be offered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC in the country and will be priced under Rs 20,000. This smartphone will also support 5G connectivity.
The interesting thing here is that Vivo T1 is sold in China with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, but in India this variant comes with Snapdragon 695 processor. However, for now we will have to wait and see if Vivo changes the specifications of the phone or not. There is no confirmation about when Vivo T1 can be launched in India or how many phones of this series can be.
In China, the Vivo T1 sports a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. The phone packs a triple rear camera system that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. A 16-megapixel selfie camera is also provided at the front.
The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. The device can be had in two configurations – 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.
The series will focus on performance powered smartphones designed for online users. Vivo continues to have a strong presence in the offline market but the online segment is dominated by Xiaomi, Realme and others.
There is a chance that the T-series could replace the existing Y line-up in India. Vivo usually launches its budget smartphones under the Y series. The V series is placed in the mid-range category while the X series offers flagship phones.
This is not the first time that Vivo is trying to target India's online smartphone market. In 2019, it introduced the Z series which included the Vivo Z1 Pro and Z1X - both claimed to provide a decent gaming performance in a tight budget. However, the series was later called off.
