Xiaomi Redmi K series is one of the most perplexing lineups in recent memory, but everyone agrees that it delivers a lot of value for the money. The next Redmi K50 series smartphones have apparently been in development for some time, and we've been hearing a lot about them recently. In China, the Redmi K50 series is slated to debut in February. Well, weeks before the rumoured launch, Redmi has finally begun teasing the next-gen flagships. The firm also highlighted some of the important hardware specifications you can expect from the Redmi K50 line of smartphones in the teaser.
Redmi China unit released a teaser for the Redmi K50 series, revealing some details about the company upcoming smartphones. To begin, the Redmi K50 series will feature a "Dual Vapor Chamber" heat dissipation system. Unsurprisingly, one of the Redmi K50 variants — most likely the Redmi K50 Pro+ will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The company also confirmed that one of the models will include the 120W charging technology (last seen in the Redmi Note 10 Pro+), which claims to charge a 4,7000mAh battery in just 17 minutes.
Xiaomi is expected to introduce four new smartphones in the Redmi K50 series, dubbed Redmi K50, K50 Pro, K50 Pro+, and K50 Gaming Edition. Two of the models are expected to be powered by MediaTek chipsets (Dimensity 7000 and 9000, respectively), while the other two will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoCs. Furthermore, the Redmi K50 series is said to come pre-installed with MIUI 13.
According to a recent report, the Snapdragon 870-powered Redmi K50 Pro may be released in the global market under a different name. The smartphone is expected to be released as the Xiaomi 12X in India and the POCO F4 Pro in other markets. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
