We previously reported on the Indian launch date of Tecno 5G smartphone, the Tecno POVA 5G. The device is expected to be launched in January 2022. More reports have now surfaced, providing finer details on the expected launch date, as well as the device's price point and other details.
According to Giznext, Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of Transsion India, stated in an interview that the Tecno POVA 5G will be available in India in the third or fourth week of January. Furthermore, Talapatra revealed that the device will be priced in the subcontinent between Rs 18,000 and 20,000.
Tecno POVA 5G specifications and features
The Tecno POVA 5G, which was initially released in Nigeria this week, this smartphone has a large 6.95-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole design. It has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels, a 480ppi pixel density, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood of the POVA 5G is the Dimensity 900 chipset.
8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage are included in the POVA 5G. It boots into a HiOS-flavored version of Android 11. The device has a virtual RAM of 3 GB. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for added security. The POVA 5G Aether Black version is shown in the photographs.
The POVA 5G sports a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel camera, and an AI lens on the back. The device comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
Tecno POVA 5G Battery
The Tecno POVA 5G is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery and 18W rapid charging. According to the firm, a 15-minute charge will provide 3 hours of playtime time. The POVA 5G has a standby time of 775 hours, a talk time of 55 hours, and a gaming time of 11 hours.
Tecno intends to expand its accessory lineup in addition to the smartphone. "We aim to launch new TWS, speakers, and smartwatch next year," Talapatra said.
He stated that speakers will be launched in January, and smartwatches will be available in Q2, both for less than Rs. 5,000.
