Oppo to launch three Find X phones, might call them Find X5

Oppo promised in early December that a Find X phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 would arrive in the first quarter of 2022. Two weeks later, MediaTek confirmed that another device from the series will be powered by the Dimensity 9000. Leakster Digital Chat Station revealed that the flagship family will actually have three members at launch, the third one with an as-yet unknown chipset.

He also said that Oppo is working on another Find N phone that will rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Huawei P50 Pocket in the Chinese market.

Interestingly, he also called the series "Find X5" instead of "Find X4", which has some logic. After all, no Chinese manufacturer uses the number 4 in their phone names because it sounds like "death" and customers in an Asian country are superstitious about such things.

The Find X5 Pro is expected to be a mild upgrade over the current flagship Find X3 Pro. Besides the obvious chipset change, another notable improvement will be faster charging, with rumors pointing to 80W - a long-overdue change for Oppo, which has been launching phones with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 for more than two years.
