Moto Edge X30 Hands On & First Impressions: Phone loaded with features

Moto Edge X30 was launch earlier this month and has been a hot topic in the tech community due to the fact that it is the first and, for the time being, the only smartphone on the market with Qualcomm latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Now that we've gotten our hands on the brand-new device, we'd like to share our initial thoughts and impressions of Motorola latest flagship.

The first thing that struck us about the phone was how light it was, which is in stark contrast to its metallic appearance, which makes it appear much heavier than it is. The phone back surface was sturdy and smooth, but it didn't have the fingerprint stain issues that glass backs do.

When scrolling and switching screens, the 144Hz OLED HDR+ display stood out for its fluidity and smoothness. We quickly download and run a benchmark to check how much of the new SoC can leverage this smooth 144Hz display. The device performed admirably in 3DMark Wild Life, with an average frame rate of 57 FPS and a score of 9,589, placing it in the top 2% of results. The score puts this device GPU on par with Apple latest A15 Bionic SoCs, which are used in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

With 6,416 points, the Google Pixel 6 was the closest Android competition on the list. Apart from the outstanding GPU performance, the device temperature, which remained at a respectable 33 degrees Celsius during the benchmark, shocked us the most.

After that, we performed the AnTuTu test on the Moto Edge X30, which worked as smoothly as if we were viewing a video. The device received a 957,864 overall score, which is higher than 99 percent of devices in AnTuTu database.

We chose to test the device camera capabilities by taking many images with the 50MP primary camera, the 50MP ultrawide camera, and a few snaps in macro mode for our last test. Considering the indoor setting, the photos turned out to be quite remarkable. The natural bokeh effect and the wide-angle shots, which turned out to be incredibly great in quality, were the most impressive aspects of the camera performance.

The Moto Edge X30 is now undergoing a detailed assessment by Gizmochina. Stay tuned as we delve deeper into the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 performance and discuss some of its flaws as well as the phone in general.
