iQOO 9, iQOO 9 Pro specs, launch date and Latest news

iQOO The gaming-focused sub-brand of Vivo is gearing up to launch a new smartphone series under its flagship segment. The new smartphones will be named iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro. According to a recently leaked poster, the device will launch on January 5.

As can be seen from the image below, the iQOO 9 sports a racing stripe design and a large camera island along with three sensors at the back. iQOO took to a microblogging website Weibo to share the new image and informed us that the device will launch in China soon.

Furthermore, via a Weibo post, the tipster digital chat station has shared some photos of the vanilla iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro. The images show the alleged design of the upcoming smartphone which is similar to the teaser image shared by iQOO. However, the images shared by the tipster show a dragon-shaped design in gray color with iQOO branding.

It is believed that the triple rear camera setup will be seen in the smartphone and it will have features like Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Ultra Sensing. The two new smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

iQOO 9 Specs

It is expected that both the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro will have similar specifications with some changes. The iQOO 9 Pro is likely to sport a 6.78-inch QHD+ curved OLED display, while the non-Pro model will sport a flat 1080p OLED display.

iQOO 9 flaunts 120Hz 2K AMOLED panel, 2nd generation independent display chip, dual-pressure shoulder buttons and improved heat management design. The iQOO 9 will have a slightly smaller battery with similar charging capabilities.

The device should be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. iQOO will bring its virtual RAM feature through the OriginOS Ocean build. These devices can come with Android 12.

The Pro model could also have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space internally. The iQOO 9 Pro is also said to come with the same 120W wired charging as the regular model and the device may support fast wireless charging as well.
