iQOO 9, 9 Pro Geekbench listings reveal chipset, IQOO 9 specs

iQOO will announce the iQOO 9 series of smartphones on January 5 at 7:30 pm (local time). Reports have revealed that the model number V2171A belongs to the vanilla iQOO 9, while the model number V2172A is associated with the iQOO 9. Supporter. Ahead of the launch, both the models have surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking site to reveal some of their key specifications.

The Geekbench listing of the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro reveals that they are powered by a Qualcomm chipset codenamed "Taro". The chipset has four CPU cores clocked at 1.79GHz, three CPU cores clocked at 2.50GHz and one prime CPU core clocked at 3.0GHz. The SoC is equipped with Adreno 730 graphics. Hence, it can be said that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will be powering the iQOO 9 and 9 Pro handsets.

Both the models are equipped with 12 GB RAM and Android 12 OS. The iQOO 9 scored 1233 in Geekbench's single-core test and 3674 in the multi-core test, while the iQOO 9 Pro scored 1277 in the single-core test and 3787 in the multi-core test.

Reports have revealed that the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. The vanilla model is expected to feature a flat screen that offers Full HD+ resolution, while the Pro variant may feature a curved edge-mounted display that produces Quad HD+ resolution. Both the phones are expected to support 120Hz refresh rate.

The iQOO 9 and 9 Pro triple camera units may include a Samsung GN5 50-megapixel primary camera. The vanilla model is expected to sport a Sony IMX663 12-megapixel telephoto camera with a 120-degree 13-megapixel superwide lens and 2x optical zoom. On the other hand, the camera setup of the Pro model will include a 150-degree Samsung JN1 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 16-megapixel camera with 2.5x optical zoom and OIS support. The primary lens of 9 Pro will have gimbal OIS support.

The iQOO 9 Duo could pack a 4,700mAh battery. Both the models are expected to support 120W fast charging.
