Honor X30 5G packing a Snapdragon 695 chip, up to 12GB RAM launched

Honor held a launch event today where it officially unveiled the Honor X30 premium mid-range smartphone. The X30 was introduced alongside the Honor Play 30 Plus 5G, which is another premium mid-ranger.

Honor X30 is the vanilla variant of X30 Max and X30i launched in October this year. The new model packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset which is a 6nm SoC with support for 5G connectivity. The top variant pairs processors with 12GB RAM but there is a 6GB RAM variant. There are 128GB and 256GB storage options for storage.

The X30 sports a 6.8-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2388-pixel. The display also comes with support for 120Hz refresh rate. The display uses a punch-hole design under which sits a 16MP selfie shooter.

At the back, the vanilla X30 sports Honor iconic Ring camera design with a wide girth just like the Magic 3. The module houses a triple camera setup that houses a 48MP main shooter. There is also a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera.

Keeping the lights on is a decent 4,800mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging that is capable of delivering a charging progress of 0-80% in just 30 minutes. As for the interface, the X30 runs on Honor proprietary Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 11.

In terms of price and availability, the Honor X30 is priced at 1,499 Yuan (~$235) for the 6GB+128GB variant, while the 12GB+256GB variant costs 2,299 Yuan (~$361). The device will be available in four colors - Black, Silver, Gold and Blue. Its sale in China is to start from December 24. No word yet on a global release.
