1. Vivo X50
Just like the Vivo X50 Pro, the Vivo X50 looks attractive from any angle and is easily the best looking phone I have seen in the company recently. It sports a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification. Overall, the Vivo X50 is a very well built smartphone with a premium in-hand feel.
Vivo X50 X50 Pro based on Android 10 runs the same software as Funtouch OS 10.5. There's a lot packed into this custom Android skin, starting with a lot of unnecessary apps like Vivo's own app store, browser, and email client. - None of these can be uninstalled.
The Vivo X50 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC and the performance has been nothing but great. Unlocking the phone is quick and seamless, the interface is always quick thanks to the high-refresh-rate screen, and multitasking isn't a problem. I found the battery life of Vivo X50 to be more than satisfactory. Even with light gaming and camera usage, I was easily getting at least a day and a half, and sometimes even a full two days, on a single charge.
The main rear camera was pretty impressive overall. In broad daylight, landscape shots packed in lots of detail, colors were vibrant, and exposure was balanced. In low light, the main camera automatically reduces the shutter speed for better performance. There is a slight graininess, and brightly lit areas may be more visible, but switching to Night Mode fixes both these issues.
2. Oppo Reno 4 Pro
The premium design of the Reno 4 Pro helps it stand apart from the competition and is easily one of its best features. It's incredibly thin (7.7 mm) and lightweight (161 grams), which is a refreshing change of pace. Oppo Reno 4 Pro sports a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for scratch protection. It runs on Oppo ColorOS 7.2, which is based on Android 10. Some new smarts have also been added to it, such as icon pull-down gestures and 'quick return bubbles' for the game.
In India, Oppo has launched a single variant of the Reno 4 Pro, with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G may be a fast and efficient chip for a low-cost phone, but in the Reno 4 Pro, it definitely outdoes its peers. Still, with day-to-day use, I didn't notice any issues with performance.
The Oppo Reno 4 Pro sold here has four rear cameras: 48-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth camera. In terms of image quality, the primary Sony IMX586 sensor delivers predictable results during the day. Details are generally good, HDR works well, and colors are well saturated. The Oppo Reno 4 Pro can shoot 4K video at up to 30fps with stabilization, but can only use the primary rear camera.

Realme GT isn't a flagship killer, but it is a premium all-rounder. Priced starting at Rs 37,999, the Realme GT lacks features like IP rating and wireless charging, but still proves to be a good all-rounder. Its top variant, available only in Racing Yellow Wagon leather finish, is aimed at youngsters who want a performance-oriented smartphone without the frills.

The display of Vivo V20 Pro is once again similar to that of V20. It is a 6.44-inch full-HD+ AMOLED panel with Schott Xensation Up cover glass. Colors are rich, it gets very bright, and there's HDR support, too.
Videos look great on the Vivo V20 Pro thanks to the Vivid AMOLED panel. HDR videos play smoothly on YouTube. Compared to the OnePlus Nord, the V20 Pro offers slightly sharper selfies and more interesting shooting modes, though Nord has a slight edge when it comes to video performance.
If you're looking for a mid-range 5G smartphone that isn't the OnePlus Nord, the V20 Pro gets our recommendation.
6. Google Pixel 4a

7. Realme X7 Pro 5G
The Realme X7 Pro 5G is very similar to the Realme 7 Pro, especially the design of the rear camera module. Due to the slim body and relatively low weight of 184 grams, it is quite comfortable to use with one hand. The display is one of the highlights of the Realme X7 Pro which is a 6.55-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED panel with an in-display fingerprint sensor, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5 and support for HDR video playback.
Another feature worth noting is the use of MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ 5G SoC which is a power-efficient SoC with strong CPU and GPU performance. The Realme X7 Pro 5G ran smoothly in the short amount of time I had to test it. I didn't notice any improper heating, system lag, or slowdowns of any kind.
The Realme X7 Pro 5G is still running on Realme UI 1.0 based on Android 10. There isn't much we haven't seen before. It's still loaded with bloatware, though most of it can be removed. The Realme X7 Pro 5G posted strong benchmark numbers, and games like Oceanhorn and Call of Duty Mobile ran smoothly.
The Realme X7 Pro 5G has a familiar camera configuration that we have seen on some of its previous smartphones. You get a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front, and on the back there are four sensors including a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, a 2-megapixel monochrome camera, and a 2-megapixel Huh. Macro Camera. Performance is good in daylight but it is difficult to give satisfactory results in low light.
8. Motorola EDGE 20
The Motorola Edge 20 is sleek but has a protruding camera at the back. Motorola has focused on the design to make it sling and lightweight at 163g. It has a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. The device is well built and features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back and an aluminum frame in the middle. Motorola almost stocks Android 12 as MyUX with some of its customizations. The phone delivers decent performance and will be loved by those who love style and performance. It is not the best when it comes to battery life due to the small battery.
The Edge 20 packs a triple camera setup, consisting of a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and an 8-megapixel 3X telephoto camera. The Edge 20 takes good pictures in daylight and closeups are better. Camera performance was not good in low light.
9. Samsung Galaxy A52
Galaxy A52 is part of the A series and was launched alongside the Galaxy A72. The new Galaxy A52 sports a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a hole-punch display. It also has a fast 90Hz refresh rate. The construction is primarily plastic which is not the case with its competition. The Galaxy A52 is IP67 rated and you'll get a rubber seal around the SIM tray to help keep water and dust out. The smartphone packs a 4,500mAh battery and can be managed for single-handed use. The battery is capable of fast charging at 25W but you only get a 15W charger in the box.
The Galaxy A52 packs a quad-camera setup at the back that includes a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Camera performance is acceptable in daylight but the wide-angle camera doesn't capture as much detail as the primary camera. Close-ups were good and the Galaxy A52 clicked some decent portraits. The macro camera was also good at delivering crisp output. Selfies taken with the selfie camera were good and the camera did a good job in most of the lighting conditions.
Galaxy A52 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720 processor which is a decent processor. It is capable of delivering decent performance and multitasking is also easy with 6GB of RAM. Compared to some of the Galaxy A52 direct competitors, the chipset feels underpowered.
The 4,500mAh battery offers good battery life and the phone lasted about a day and a half with our usage. The charging time was also not very long, with the charger topping the phone up in about an hour and a half.
10. OnePlus Nord 2
OnePlus Nord 2 5G is the successor of OnePlus Nord. It is part of the affordable Nord series and is cheaper than the OnePlus 9 series. OnePlus Nord 2 sports a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FullHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Like other OnePlus smartphones, Nord 2 also gets OxygenOS and is running on top of Android 11. You also get two years of software updates and three years of security updates. The Nord 2 is a decent performer and can handle heavy tasks and apps without any issues. The 4500mAh battery can last for one and a half days without any problem. Charging is super quick and the phone can top up from the drain state in just 32 minutes.
The camera performance of the Nord 2 is good for the price. The pictures are good in daylight but the pictures taken with the ultra wide angle camera are not good. The Nord 2 manages close-up and portrait shots very well. Low light camera performance was also good and Nightscape mode enabled the phone to click better shots in low light. Overall, the OnePlus Nord 2 is a good pick for anyone on a budget.
11. Mi 11X
The Xiaomi Mi 11X offers the very powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC at a surprisingly low price, and the tradeoff is camera quality. While this phone is great for gaming and entertainment, it takes average photos and videos during the day, while performance in low light is on par. You get a big, bright vibrant 6.67-inch 120Hz full-HD+ display and a battery that easily lasts a whole day. There are also some premium touches like Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, IP53 rating and stereo speakers. You can buy the Mi 11X with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, but the storage is stagnant at 128GB. Games run great, and videos look great on screen. The 48-megapixel main rear camera is serviceable and the 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera is pretty weak, but the surprising standout is the 5-megapixel "telemacro" camera that allows for some very creative shots.
12. Poco F3 GT
The Poco F3 GT is the successor to the original Poco F1 and focuses on delivering performance. The Poco F3 GT has a premium build quality, features a metal frame and a glass back. This metal frame houses "maglev" trigger buttons that can be engaged by sliders on the side.
You get a large 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It has support for HDR10+ and can reach a touch sampling rate of 480Hz in Game Turbo mode. Poco has chosen the Dimensity 1200 SoC to power the F3 GT and paired it with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. With this device you get 128GB and 256GB storage options.
Poco has managed to pack in a 5,065mAh battery and had bundled a 67W fast charger in the box. The phone can last for over a day and a half on a single charge and managed to score well in our HD video loop test. The supplied charger also used to drain the large battery very quickly.
The Poco F3 GT has a triple camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a. 2-megapixel macro camera. The smartphone delivered average performance in both daylight as well as low light conditions. The macro camera managed good details but had a low resolution.
Overall, the Poco F3 GT is a gaming focused smartphone that delivers great performance for the price. However, it is not an all-rounder and can do so with a few camera improvements.
13. Oppo RENO 6
Oppo shares a lot of features with the Reno 6 Pro model, such as Bokeh Flare portrait filter in the camera app, 65W fast charging and a high refresh rate AMOLED display. The design gives off strong iPhone 12 vibes, but that really works in its favor. The 6.42-inch AMOLED display looks great. It is claimed to have full-HD+ resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 90Hz refresh rate and a brightness rating of up to 700nits.
Oppo says that this is the first phone in India to sport the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC which is powerful enough to handle daily tasks and games at full-HD+ resolution. The 4,300mAh battery capacity might not sound very impressive, but with day-to-day use, I was easily averaging a full day on a single charge. The Oppo Reno 6 doesn't have the rear depth camera of the Reno 6 Pro, but other than that, it has the same set of sensors at the front and back.
While the Reno 6 is certainly a better value than the Pro model, it might be difficult to justify buying it after comparing it to the OnePlus Nord 2 and Poco F3 GT.
14. Realme X7 Max
Realme has launched the new X7 Max 5G soon after the X7 Pro 5G, and this new phone offers a much more powerful SoC but at a lower starting price. The Dimensity 1200 SoC is great for gaming and general productivity. In the retail box, you get a 4500mAh battery with 65W charger unit and 50W fast charging. Battery life is excellent and you should be able to last more than a day on each charge. The 6.43-inch Super AMOLED screen is crisp, but not the best we've seen. Stereo speakers make games and movies more attractive. The default apps of Realme UI give some spammy notifications but there are a lot of features too. The cameras are disappointing overall, especially in low light. You might not like the plastic rear panel which doesn't feel very premium.
