The news comes just days after Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp experienced an Instagram outage on Friday, following nearly 7 hours of outages on Monday.
"We are testing a new feature that will notify you in your Activity Feed when there is an outage or a technical issue, as well as when it is resolved." The new alerts, according to Engadget, appear in users' activity feeds. Other in-app notifications will also appear here. Messages can alert users to specific issues, such as storey uploads, or to a more widespread problem, such as last week's outage, which caused confusion.
