Google Pixel users are facing issues after updating to Android 12 |
Google Pixel users are facing issues after updating to Android 12. Google Android update, which was released earlier this week after some anticipation, was intended to improve user experience with Google new Material You design language and several underlying improvements. However, some users have reported on social media that after updating their Pixel phones to Android 12, they began experiencing lag and other annoying issues, such as an unresponsive touchscreen. The problems are not limited to a single model, but affect the majority of the most recent Pixel phones.

Some of the affected users have posted about their issues on Google's support forums. A huge number of users have reported that after upgrading Android 12, their Pixel phones have become unresponsive to touch. Others have reported app crashes after updating to the latest Android version. Following the Android 12 upgrade, a few customers have reported battery drain issues as well as other issues on their Pixel models.
Along with user complaints on the Google Support forums, some users have taken to Twitter to discuss the issues they are experiencing after updating their Pixel phones to Android 12.

The issues do not appear to be limited to a specific Pixel model, though the majority of the complaints available on the Web indicate that the problems are surfacing on recent Pixel phones such as the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5.
Google has yet to acknowledge any problems with Android 12. However, product experts on the Google Support forums have advised some affected users to boot into safe mode to see if the issues are caused by any third-party apps. It does not appear to have greatly aided users.
After months of beta testing, Android 12 was released alongside the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro earlier this week. The Material You design language is used in the new operating system to make interface changes. There are also new privacy focused changes, such as the ability to share an approximation of one's location and a new Privacy Dashboard to detail app permission settings.
Android 12 is now available for all Google Pixel phones, beginning with the Pixel 3. It is also pre-installed on the Pixel 6 series.
