AirPods Pro 2 design renders have surfaced online, providing us with an early look at the earbuds outward appearance. Apple recently introduced the third-generation AirPods to the Indian market. The new AirPods received a radical design overhaul, which had been overdue since the first-generation model's release. It now bears an unmistakable resemblance to the AirPods Pro. Furthermore, the second-generation AirPods Pro are expected to be unveiled soon by Apple.
However, neither the Cupertino-based tech company has denied nor confirmed this rumour. According to the rumour mill, Apple's Pro TWS earbuds will be available in the second quarter of this year. According to previous reports, the AirPods Pro 2 will be available in two sizes and will no longer include the stem. In addition, previous rumours suggest that the upcoming earbuds will have a more rounded body. However, recently leaked design renders contradict these speculations.

AirPods Pro 2 Desing Renders
According to MacRumors, the AirPods Pro 2 will retain the same design as the current model. The article cites an unconfirmed source and includes images of the upcoming earbuds and charging case.
The leaked design renders appear to use the same design with a stem and silicone ear tips. Unfortunately, it appears that Apple has abandoned the optical sensor. Furthermore, the report suggests that Apple may have removed optical sensors in favour of skin-detect sensors. For the AirPods 3, the company ditched the optical sensor in favour of a skin-detect sensor.
Other Design Changes & Features
The charging case, on the other hand, is noticeably different. There are speaker holes on each side of the lightning port at the bottom of the charging case. According to the source, Apple intends to include a "Find My" function in iOS 16. Users will be able to play a sound for the charging case separately. Furthermore, the side edge appears to be home to a metal loop. It's worth noting that previous versions of the AirPods lacked these side-mounted metal loops.
Surprisingly, rumours circulating online suggest that Apple will abandon the stem design for the Pro TWS. The stem, according to Bloomberg Mark Gurman, will not be included in the AirPods Pro. Given Gurman track record in terms of Apple leaks, Apple's new earbuds could feature a stem-less design. Aside from a new design, the Pro model will reportedly include new motion sensors that will enable a slew of new fitness-related features.
