The Dimensity 720, a 5G-capable MediaTek processor, has been introduced, and it is far less expensive. It's also the first in the company's Dimensity 700-series.
Media Tek Dimensity 720 5G Features
It is built on a 7nm manufacturing process and consists of an octa-core CPU with 2 x Cortex-A76 cores and 6 x Cortex-A55 cores along with Mali-G57MC3 GPU. The chipset could be coupled with LPDRR 4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. As far as 5G capabilities, the mid-tier chip supports the all-6 GHz standard. To address 5G's relatively high power consumption, MediaTek relies on so-called 5G UltraSave technology to save some juice.
Other notable features include advanced APU for 90Hz, HDR10+ display support, Bluetooth 5.1, machine learning, 64MP camera or 20MP+16MP dual camera configuration and also, 4K recording is possible. MediaTek says the first Dimensity 720-powered smartphone will arrive next month and with the Dimensity 820 phone costing just $250, we suspect the 720 will cost even less.
Featurs and Performance
The Dimensity 720 combines an octa-core CPU with two powerful Arm Cortex-A76 ‘Big' cores running at up to 2GHz, a powerful Arm Mali G57-class GPU, high performance LPDDR4X memory running at up to 2,133MHz, and fast UFS 2.2-class storage to give you the best all-around smartphone experience, whether you're streaming video, chatting with friends, working on the go, playing games, or snapping photos.

Enhance HDR+ Video Playback & Display
With MediaTek's "local tone mapping" technology, MiraVision improves HDR10+ content playback by keeping more detail and contrast even at extremes of light and dark. MiraVision can even improve ordinary HDR10 footage to HDR10+ quality in real time by using dynamic metadata to enable per-frame brightness adjustment without overexposure.
Because all smartphone screens are different, MiraVision is clever and adaptable, assessing each device's display capabilities and optimizing them appropriately using a proprietary re-mapping algorithm.
Fluid Display upto 90 Hz
Brands increasingly use 90Hz displays to improve the daily smartphone experience, particularly by scrolling smooth text and online pages, and by flowing movement in the app user interface and gaming animations.
The brands can use up to four cameras, including big 64MP or 16MP sensors with a quad-pixel binning, in their smartphone designs. A high-performance hardware depth engine allows for precise bokeh in real time previews and photos, while other hardware accelerators to improve photography and video capture outcomes for anti-distortion, noise reduction, and facial recognition. The MediaTek APU offers specific AI-camera improvements to allow for unique efficiency or service differentiation.
Integaral, Maltiple Voice Assistance
Virtual assistants help us in a variety of ways in our daily lives. The Dimensity 720 can listen for a variety of trigger words to activate virtual assistants such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and other regional services.
Brands benefit from a power and size efficient solution with integrated noise reduction that is simple to use and provides more customer options.
