Samsung announces Unpacked 2022 event for August 10

Samsung has announced that the next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on August 10. The company has already confirmed the release of the next-generation Galaxy Z Flip - its compact folding smartphone - but we can also expect the announcement of a new Galaxy Z Fold (rumoured to be called Galaxy Z Fold 4). At 9:00 a.m. ET, the event will be streamed live on the Samsung Newsroom website and YouTube channel (6:30 PM IST). The announcement was made earlier today through the company's official channels.

Samsung is allowing customers to'reserve' some of its upcoming products ahead of the event, at least in the United States. A similar offer is not yet available in India, but we can expect it to be available soon. The Samsung page for the United States also teases the official launch Galaxy smartwatch and Galaxy Buds. The company is offering up to $200 off a new Galaxy phone, smartwatch, and wireless earbuds bundle.

Readers should keep in mind that the launch of the Watch and Galaxy Buds is not assured, and these could be existing devices included in the bundle. Regarding the new Galaxy Z products, we can confirm that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will have dual cameras on the outside. The phone, like the Galaxy Z Fold 4, could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

According to rumours, it's will have a 7.6-inch foldable display and a 6.2-inch HD+ AMOLED display once unfolded. Both displays may have a refresh rate of 120Hz for a smooth scrolling experience. This year, Samsung may also improve the hinge mechanism and the under-display camera on the inner screen. Last year, the company made headlines when it promised an IPX8 water resistance rating. It will be interesting to see if the company promises dust protection this time.

The Galaxy Z Fold and Flip phones are generally very expensive, and we anticipate that they will cost more than a lakh. Details about the other products in the lineup are currently unknown, but given that the launch is only three weeks away, we can expect more information soon.
