As the case progresses, Niharika father, Naga Babu, posted a video in which he confirmed that his daughter had been detained but that the police had determined that she was not guilty. "Last night, my daughter Niharika was detained for being present at a pub in a five-star hotel." The management has been apprehended by police for operating the pub outside of its permitted hours. "However, the police have confirmed she is clean and has nothing to do with the drugs recovered," he said, according to Pinkvilla.
He also urged everyone not to spread unfounded rumours. "I've seen a lot of bogus news making the rounds on social media." "I implore everyone to refrain from spreading such rumours," Naga Babu said.
According to CNN-News18, the task force team inspected the pub's premises for nearly 2 hours before transporting all detainees to the Banjara Hills police station for further questioning. The owners of the pub have been charged with violating the rules. Some members of the film and entertainment industries, as well as the children of some well-known people, are said to have been detained and later released. A senior police officer confirmed to CNN-News18 that blood samples from 45 detainees have been collected for further medical examination to determine whether drug consumption has occurred. The raid occurred in the midst of a stepped-up police crackdown on the drug trade.
