The Xiaomi Redmi K50 series smartphones that are set to launch soon have popped up on the Geekbench 5 database. The smartphone was teased earlier and has also received approval from regulatory boards. The Redmi K50 series is expected to hit the markets soon and is likely to feature top-of-the-line hardware which includes – Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform from Qualcomm, 4,7000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, AMOLED display For high refresh rate optics and Sony rear camera setup. The Redmi K50 series will consist of four models - Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro+ and Redmi Gaming Edition.
Redmi K50 series spotted on Geekbench 5 database
The Redmi K50 series will consist of four models and hence is likely to come in more than one hardware configuration. While the high-end model is expected to get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a recent Geekbench 5 database spotting by MySmartPrice has also revealed that the device running model number 22021211RC is likely to get an 800-series processor, exclusive Originally powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC.
The Xiaomi device with model number 22021211RC posted 963 points on single core and 3123 points on multi-core tests. The motherboard section shows a codename platform and the hardware configuration for the processor suggests that the device will get a 1+3+4 core cluster with a base frequency set to 1.8GHz. The processor is paired with 12GB of RAM. The device is also shown to run on Android 12.
The Redmi K40 also used Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC which was launched as Mi 11X in India and POCO F3 in other markets.
Redmi K50 expected specifications
The Redmi K50 series will consist of four models - Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro+ and Redmi Gaming Edition. The vanilla Redmi K50 model was earlier expected to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 7000, Dimensity 9000 or Dimensity 8000 SoC. However, the Geekbench listing reveals that the Snapdragon 870 SoC will be the star. The high-end model is likely to benefit from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform. Display specifications for the device will stand at 120Hz or 144Hz high refresh rate and will get AMOLED panels. The Redmi K50 is also expected to get 64MP Sony main camera sensor, 4,700mAh battery and 120W fast charging support.

Reports suggest that the device may arrive in India under a different nomenclature like the current generation Redmi K40 model. Redmi K50 may be called Mi 12X and POCO F4 Pro in India and international markets respectively.
