Earlier today (21 December 2021), Huawei shared a new teaser for its upcoming foldable smartphone, the P50 Pocket. The new image poster shows the device side by side and also reveals a new color variant.
The brand shared the new teaser poster on its official Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website). In a social media post, the company noted that today is the "winter solstice", which means it is the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. While the term may not seem relevant to the upcoming smartphone, the Chinese tech giant may be hinting at the name of a new color variant of the P50 Pocket that is shown in the image poster.

Looking at the teaser, we can see the side profile of the P50 Pocket, which is available in Silver color variant. Earlier, we saw the P50 Pocket at a renowned fashion magazine Harper Bazaar where Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong endorsed the smartphone in a gold color variant. In other words, it has been confirmed that the P50 Pocket will be available in at least Silver and Gold variants, with the former possibly being called something like Winter (if not called Winter Solstice). Notably, the grooves on the rear panel of the Silver variant also seem to be different from the Gold variant.
Talking about the specs of the much-awaited smartphone, it sports a 6.8-inch primary display that folds inwards like a clamshell while the outer panel is a 1-inch circular panel located below the rear camera module. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by a 4,100mAh battery pack that could support 66W fast charging. It will also be powered by Kirin 9000 chipset, which will reportedly not have 5G support. The Huawei P50 Pocket is set to be unveiled on December 23, so stay tuned until we've got the launch event covered.
